I can’t believe I missed the audition part. Where have I been?!?
I am still a huge fan of the show though. Yes, despite the fact that Paula is not there anymore and I am not really liking Kara. I’m still trying to get use to Ellen’s presence but as early as now I think I’m gonna like her more.
Since I didn’t see any of the January episodes, I don’t have a list of favorites yet. I can’t wait for the final cut next week! Looks like I'm back to my normal TV indulgence.
Cheers!

American Idol, Joanna Pacitti: Out!
She was Carly Smithson version 2. Well, almost. One of my favorites this year, Joanna Pacitti is now disqualified and pulled out of the Top 36. Reason still unknown, perhaps because of the record (that didn't sell)? Feeling sorry for her.
Too bad. Add to the disappointment the inclusion of the very annoying Tatiana "Oh my God! Oh my God!" del Toro. I can't wait to see her go home...first!
Too much reality TV for me. It gets kinda boring sometimes, so I divert my attention to looking for some other talents, who are so hidden they're always unnoticed.
I admire these guys for being so good at taking footage from the right angles without exposing each other. That's what makes the Amazing Race amazing for me. You get to see everything 360 degrees that you wonder, who's holding the cameras?
I saw one in Amazing Race (Rob and Amber season), when one group had an accident. Never in American Idol.
Until last Thursday.
The camera man.

The best David won
I had no plans to blog about this but I got a bit excited last week to see another perfect top 2 in American Idol. We had the best top 2 last 2005. Followed by a weird pair in 2006 then the weakest last year. This time America got it all right, so right that I didn't really care who's gonna win, David or David, they're both talented.
I thought David A.'s gonna win the voting though, based from the trend since day one, but if I could vote, I would have voted for David C. I think he's more ready than his very young competitor.
I noticed that Simon, so as the other two judges also wanted David C. to win. Simon has been trying to make him appear as the underdog by giving favorable comments for David A., that would gain David C. more sympathy votes, which he deserve, and he did. So the early favorite, I mean big, huge favorite David A. (looked like he) was robbed. Well, he's still young. A career is waiting. He doesn't need to win.
It's been another great season for American Idol.
For me the best part of the show last night was Carrie Underwood's number. She's my favorite Idol winner so far.
The worst part: The "I am brother, best friend forever..." by, uh... a Filipino. What a shame!

Ramiele Malubay
Eight hours before American Idol is aired in our local chanels, someone texted me the spoiler: "Ramiele just left the show."
I was hoping that the news wasn't true. I absolutely wasn't feeling good about it. I watched the replay of the contestant's performance night and Ramiele may not be the best but definitely not the weakest. I tried to sleep after that and planned not to watch the elimination episode at 6pm.
I got awakend by my noisy neighbors at 6:30pm. I turned the TV on and when I saw Ramiele seated in one of the stools with Kristy, I knew the news I got earlier that day was true.
I turned the TV off, only to find myself turning it on again 20 minutes later. It's confirmed, Ramiele is going home...

She was never in the bottom three before so, her, getting the cut came as a surprise to me. I believe she deserve to have stayed longer.

Well, I'd remember April 1, 2008 as the day when Filipinos in the United States stayed away from their phones.
(Sigh!)
