  • Friendster is deleting my account?

Yes, I still have a Friendster account. But wait, by May 31, 2011, all my Friendster photos, testimonials, messages and blog posts will vanish... forever! This is part of the suppose upgrade that Friendster is doing. Nope, they won't delete our accounts. We can still login after and view our empty profiles.

My account (the second and last), was created in October 2004. The first one was made six months earlier until some internet cafe user stole my password. Well, my Friendster contains quite a number of memories. Not really the old photos (which I've actually deleted a long time ago), but I value the messages and testimonials more. Imagine reading a friend's message six years ago and someone's impression on you back then? :)

Anyway, I just moved my Friendster photos to Multiply. How to do that? Just look for the Friendster Exporter app when you login to your account. You can transfer all your photos to Multiply or Flickr.

With Facebook now dominating the social networking community, I guess, this is Friendster's first step to saying bye-bye...

Oh God, I love Carrie Underwood!

I like Carrier Underwood since her Idol days. I think she's the most successful American Idol winner so far. And I love her even more after seeing this:

    Awesome, great performance!

    The Holy Week Effect

Traffic around Metro Manila is never heavy during Holy Week. It's a phenomenon that happens once a year. Look:

    Longganisa

If there's one thing that I love about Vigan, it's their famous longganisa. My aunt use to bring us longganisa from Vigan every time she visits and it has become my official favorite ulam as a kid.

When we arrived in Vigan last Saturday, we had our breakfast at Grandpa's Inn and Restaurant:

Of course, I immediately asked for my favorite:
    Yummy!!!

    Thumbs up!

    Simot sarap.

Vigan Longganisa are small (when cooked). They're stuffed with pork and lots of garlic. Unlike the commercialized longganisa, they're not sweet. We can only find genuine Vigan Longganisa in Vigan and Laoag, which makes me wonder, why don't they sell them around the Philippines?

    Rediscovering Vigan and Laoag

I regret not saving a copy of my entries from my new blog (which was hacked yesterday) here in Blogger. One month and 25 posts later, I have to start all over.

I'm (re)blogging about my recent trip to the north.

I am from Ilocos Sur. Yet, I have never been to the famous places in Vigan and Laoag before. You might wonder why. Not that I left and moved somewhere, I still go home at least once a month. Vigan is just quite far from our town, about 4-5 hours. Laoag, 5-6 hours. And I never really heard anything fancy about these places before, aside from their famous longganisa which I really really love.

I had fun during our trip. I learned to appreciate my province more.

More about Vigan and Laoag in my next posts.

    Cheers!

    Hacked

My first try at getting a hosted site has been a disaster. I never thought it would be this stressful.

During my first week, the server went down and restored only about three days.

Everything went well for the past three weeks. For some reasons, I got inspired to post an entry daily. I loved my entries. I had my settings changed so that a backup is sent to my email everyday.

Today, I wake up to find out that my site has been hacked. I'm sure that's a blogger's worst nightmare. I asked for help from my host but they can't do anything either. The backups are not of any use at all. They advised me to start from scratch. I gave up.
